Default Electrical / Cluster issues?

Came back to car today and date, time, tripometer had reset themselves to defaults.

Is this a precurser to battery or cluster failure?

Thanks.

Default not necessarily...had that happen once to me>>>

and it was fine after that. Check your battery voltage at the posts with an volt meter....12.2 volts or less...time for a change..

Default Electrical / Cluster issues? YES

Within 6mos after I first purchased my TT in Jan2000 I experienced the same problem. They replaced the cluster. However, within the last 6mos, the problem has reappeared and has become progressively worse. Now, every time I start the car, it resets, including the tripmeter. Worse yet, just today, the car wouldn't start until the 5th try. I suspect an electrical short is at the root of it all, and we will be at the shop tomorrow.
