Electrical Hum Malady and Window One-Touch Fix
Howdy all,
A little while ago I had a bad headlight switch. After it was fixed, I could hear a low electrical hum whenever the lights were turned on. It did not matter that the stereo was turned on or not. The dealer at first could not "hear" it (the hum). I could and can hear it very audibly. Now they say that it is "within acceptable parameters." I find it curious that a) my car didn't do this until the electrical system was messed with, b) no other TT on the lot did it, and c) it just so happens to be under warranty. I have a feeling that were Audi not footing the bill for this, I'd get charged up the wazoo for fixing it.
My question is this: has anyone else suffered this hum? It is a low electrical hum, audible even when the stereo is off. Any fixes?
Oh, and just so I contribute something other than complaining, here is a purported fix for the one-touch up/down window problem (I apologize if this has been posted already). According to the dealer, here's how you fix your windows when the one touch up stops working: put the key in the ignition, bring the window all the way down, then all the way up, then take the key out of the ignition. This supposedly "resets" the window height and restores the one-touch feature. Beats me, but they did it, so I guess it works. Man this car has buggy electrics. . . .
