Engine Check light on After Forgetting to Feconnect Air Intake Sensor
Hello,
This is my first posting here. I changed my air filter last night and forgot to re-attach the connection to the air intake sensor. After starting the car, the "Engine-Check" light remained on. I quickly realized my mistake and re-attached the connection, but the "Engine-Check" light is still on. Is there a way to shut this off without a VAG tool or do I need to wait until my next Audi service.
Thanks for any assistance.

No need>>>>
while sitting in the car, switch the ingition switch to the run position, but do not start the car. Do this several times...then the next time you drive the car, it will clear in a short period of time...

What you disconnected>>>
was actually the MAF, or Mass Air Flow sensor. Feeds information to the ECU on the volume of air moving towards the turbo...when you started the car without it, the data was not sent, hence the light.
All you did is recycle the ecu...the check engine light or CEL, is not a "hard" error...so think of it as, you left the gas cap loose or off....
This does not work for every CEL so you know...
