Engine lag
Today, at a light, I took off as the light turn green, I was out-accelerated by some ugly mini-van. It felt like I had this 2 or 3 second lag on the turbo.
What gives? Do I need to trade this thing in on a new M Roadster?

Nope.
You don't need to train it in... what you need to do is actually go into first at around 2.5k or 3k or feather it out. AWD Turbo cars can be a bit tricky on launch but you need to give some gas before engaging the clutching to get a "proper" launch.
Don't worry... your car is fast and would SMOKE that minivan even on a bad day and it looks better than a BMW Roadster
