Default ePuffy, twisTTer, etc.-- those with Axis wheels -- quality tuner lugs?

The quality of the tuner lugs on my Jaz (same as Axis) wheels is downright scary. One of them fractured at the shank when the shop was torquing them down to 90 ft. lbs. and had to be drilled out. Another fractured when dropped from about a foot onto the Hunter rig.

Okay, what are my tuner lug options? I'm thinking about a stud conversion. That would also allow me to at least put a lock on the wheels, too.

Default go for the stud version, always my first choice :P

seriously, I went with stud version because I didn't want to deal with having to use a special tool to get my wheels on and off.

The tuner lugs that I had were decent and I even sold them to someone here on the forum.
As long as they are good in quality, it becomes a matter of preference.

I would contact Jaz and explain the situation and force them to send you some stud lugz.

I requested the same of Axis because they sent me the wrong lug size so your situation surely warrants that they honor your request.

Default 2nd that.. I got the stud conversion...

i love not having to line up the holes exactly and then having to struggle getting the bolts on and stuff. The complete stud conversion kit was like $40 shipped from Wheelguyz

Default where did you get your wheels? I can't believe they made you pay for stud lugs.

Should have been free.

Default The folks who sold my wheels were trying to be cheap...I could have used stock lugs but since...

I needed spacers I had to get longer ones.
They claim that lugs are always extra when buying wheels. I called B.$. on that and had them send me stud lugs.

Default The wheels I got were the ones on some show car...

looks like maybe from the EIP one? I dunno..

Don't you usually get tuner lugs with the wheels? I wanted stud conversions anyways...

Default

Did you need new parts every time you changed spacer thickness?

Default nope, I ran the same thing with 13, 15 and 20MM spacers...

they all seemed to have enough threads in contact to be safe...
