Errr - how much should a synthetic oil change cost me in the REAL world?!

They are charging you 1 hour labor plus the oil. That's not unreasonable.
Actually, if it's a dealer, they're probably only charging 1/2 hour, and they aren't marking up the oil to normal levels.
Yes, you can get it cheaper at Jiffy Lube, Wal-Mart, etc. However, those techs have probably never seen your car before.
I'm comfortable with the Wal-Mart 6qt synthetic oil change for $36 in my Yukon, but not the TT.

I hear ya but sometimes think Walmart/Jiffy Lube and the local dealer ALL
have the same techs rotating through them..... I shouldn't bad mouth my new local dealer as they are good and for a Porsche/Audi/BMW, etc dealer their hourly rate is in line with the independent I trek to much further north.... plus, they do Saturdays..

Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5W-40...
which is really Delvac-1, marketed differently. It's basically regular Mobil-1, in the correct viscosity for our cars (5W-40), and with a more robust additive package. The local Wallyworld had it for $19.97 for a 5 qt. jug.

Mobil web page

i get mine changed for about $10...but I bring my own oil and filter
and i usually get it done when i get other installs done to my car.
when they have it on the lift, while working on other stuff, that's what i get charged from KMD.
