Default European Car article regarding 500+ HP TTR

Not sure if someone posted anything regarding this article before, though I know some here have mentioned the car itself ... the November issue of European Car has a writeup about HPA's 500+ HP TTR. The reviewer couldn't possibly have said anything better about it. Of course, for $30K+ I should hope that'd be the case. 0-60 in 4.1. Jesus. Yes I would like to burn a Modena, thank you.

No major mods done to the exterior of the car so it looks almost completely stock (save for a few decals) which I really dig. That way, when I roll up on the balding mid-life crisis-er in the brand new Viper, he's none the wiser.

Definitely worth picking up (the magazine and the car).

Default Honestly ... I apologize for being not at all mechanically inclined.

It appears as though much of the guts of the car were upgraded (clutch, etc.).

Default From what I read they didnt do anything to it. They called it a bolt on....

because the new motor bolts directly onto the remaining(stock) drivetrain components including gearbox, haldex, etc.

Did you remember anything about changing gears, or a new gear box? Clutch, sure, but tranny?

I suspect the stock transaxle would only last a week or so.

Default I agree, with all that additional power it would wear out quick.....

especially the way most of us drive....

Default Jeff, they upgrade the transmission to VW Motorsport spec with new gears etc.

they also add a haldex oil cooler and Sachs/VW motorsport clutch and flywheel and that is all. The remainder of the drivetrain is stock. Of course they upgrade the brakes and wheels and tires and shocks and springs.
