Default Exhaust Cutout/Bypass - Anyone got one?

I was wondering if anyone was running one and where they may have put it... Pre-Cat or Pre Muffler? Did you have any issues with running it pre-cat with the O2 sensors. Thanks

Default Pre cat will most likely throw codes, post cat will not do that much good. Either way, your ECU has

to adapt to extra flow and since you're only using it for brief periods of time, the ECU will not be able to take full advantage. Thats just my opinion...in all likelyhood you will see very minimal gains with lots of noise.

Default How long do you plan to kep it open?

If its just for track days or some fun every so often on the street then you shouldnt' have any problems.

However putting it before the pre 02 sensor could cause fueling problems so it should be after the first sensor but before the cat.. After the cat will be useless.

Default I'd like to open it on track days, extended....

highway driving, etc. Basically when I'd like a little extra noise, MPG or as little exhasut restriction as possible. Will there be issues being before the second O2 sensor? If you had a high flow cat do you still feel it would be useless? TIA

Default How long does it normally take an ECU to adapt...

to extra flow? 10 min? 50miles? Would a chipped ECU still exhibit the same learning curve? Thanks

Default I would not do it with highflow cats...kinda pointless. Also, you HAVE to have a little backpressure

for things to run well and having a bypass will not be optimal. Driving on the highway with bypass open is probably a nightmare on your ears. Driving on the track will be fun, but I'm afraid that if you place it pre-cat, your ECU will throw a code before it will take advantage of the extra flow, unless you do an 02 delete.

Default Thats why I said put it after the first 02 :)

Your car wont' run correctly with it before the first 02 since it will throw the readings off.
