I finally put the TT OEM rack on the car and found a bike rack attchment that utilizes the center track to mount the rack. The Thule #589 Velo Vise fork mount attachment and the Thule XADAPT1/VWADAPT which gives you the T-bolts and spacers needed to slide into the center track. I really didn't want to clamp something around the OEM rack although the #889 Velo Vise fork mount rack pack would work that way. Hope this is helpful. I imagine I'll need another VWAdapt when and if I decide to put Thule ski attachments on, or I'll just order the A4 ski rack.
