Default Finally pulled the trigger on a new toy...

After saving for about 6 month, I'm finally moving up from point-and-shoot to DSLR (Nikon D80). I'm just so sick of the limitations of a POS camera, having to correct almost everything in Photoshop for color or contrast. I'm really jacked about this-I've always been a big Nikon fan and have heard/read really good things. Once I get used to it and the weather improves a little more, expect a full spread of car and DS **** shots coming soon. I've been scoping out good TT background locations for a while so hopefully I'll produce some good images.

The guy at Showcase in Atlanta had good things to say about it too.

I've been doing a lot of reading ahead of time-trying to reduce the giant learning curve.

yes, but sometimes it's just a matter of feedback loop from actually 'doing'

Default I think it comes down to personal preference - >>>

can't go wrong with either Nikon or Canon.

Default Canon 10D here...>>>

But I haven't seen it in about a year since my photograpger/Student son adopted it. I've always been a canon fan...
