First mod. Choosing an exhaust. Borla vs Blueflame(i know its been debated, but...). Do Borla tips..
really hang that low? I've been thru various pictures and on most of them the whole exhaust, especially tips are hanging real low! Is that how it is with all the Borla's, or depends on how you install it?
I dont think the drone will bother me too much. I dont accelerate up to 3.5-4k's for no reason, and if i do accelerate so, i want to hear that VROOOOMM !!!
Now the Blueflame seems to be perfect for me, but im affraid it might be too quiet for me..? Other than that i like its tips and the way it fits!
Also, is it fine to get the exhaust as a first mod, or is it preferrably to get the rest first?
Opinions? TIA

You can adjust the tips to fit the way you want....
I went to a local muffler shop that had the tools (torch, etc.) to bend/adjust the fit. I found the tips hang too far back as well so had some of the pipe removed....

Yup, adjust the tips. Borla will be louder, more here including adjusting.....
the hangers to get the tips right.<ul><li><a href="http://public.fotki.com/blackfnTTruck/cat-back-exhausts/">Cat back</a></li></ul>

I installed the BlueFlame just a few weeks ago...
and I chose it due to the amount of complaints on the Borla being too loud. I'm happy with the BlueFlame, but I will complain that it is just a little too quiet... Just barely louder than stock. I'm in a roadster and even with the top down, the exhaust note is not loud at all, though it does have a deeper tone than stock.
I can't comment on how the Borla sounds in person and it still may have been too loud for what I wanted, but I would have preferred slightly louder than the BlueFlame.

Exhasut will give you more power as well as improve the sound / appearance of your car
But a chip will give you the biggest improvement in power over any other mod you do that doesn't involve changing the turbo.

BlueFlame was my 2nd mod after the APR chip.

I also just installed the Blueflame. Love it. >>
From what I have seen in does not hang down as far as the Borla but is a bit lower than stock in the back.
I like the sound. Didn't want to be the same as all the guys in rice burners with fart cans on their cars.
The exhaust note is fuller without being really loud, Sounds much better when you really give it to her.

Exactly what im affraid of. Blueflame, according to everyone here is probably the 2nd quietest...
...right after Jetex, as i hear Jetex is really pretty much the same as stock.
Especially after reading your reply, i think i will be going with the Borla.
Thanks for your help!
