Default FNG needs tuning help

I just bought a 02 Silver TTQC 225 from Tischer in Silver Spring MD. I obviously love it. I traded in my A6. My brother-in-law has an A4 that he chipped and swears by it. I am thinking about doing some stage I tuning with APR. Does this void the warranty, and if so, should I buy the spare for when I take it in to get serviced?

Do you really want an answer to that?

Default the apr chip is fabulous -- you won't be sorry...as for an extra ecu...

the emcs capability of the apr chip allows you to set it back to "stock" mode and to eliminate all fault codes...but there is still a small chance that the dealer could find the "foreign" chip and void your warranty...a second ecu effectively eliminates that small chance...so you have to decide if the additional money for a second ecu is worth reducing the already small chance of a warranty denial to essentially zero.

btw -- you'll find tischer's service department to be pretty good (and responsive). also, they can fix the infamous lock/light bug!

Well and succinctly put, re: risk trade-off of second ECU!
