Forum comes thru again...Followed posted instructions for changing the oil
and the instructions and warnings were excellent.
The toughest part of the job was loosening the oil filter and getting it out of the engine bay area. Make sure you have something on the ground below the oil filter location to catch all of the dripping oil. You will undoubtly drip some oil because you have to twist and turn the filter to get it out of the engine bay.
Here is the beginning of the thread w/ good info on this maintenance procedure.

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/388500.phtml

Check this out.....I changed my oil the first time 2 weeks ago....
Oil EVERYWHERE!!!!! ARG!!! 2 cuts on my hand...ARG!!! :P
Someone and I really forget who, told me that once you get the filter off, 'rest' it vertically somewhere and take it out from the top. I haven't tried this yet, but is said to be alot cleaner than trying to twist it out, which is damn near IMPOSSIBLE!

Read your post about the filter extraction troubles and have you to thank...
for not getting oil all over my garage floor and myself. - Thank You!
The oil started to leak even before I managed to get the filter completely off. I took a look to get it out from the top, but didn't want to risk getting oil all over the engine.
