I was wondering if anyone has replaced the front bumper cover where the front license plate is drilled into. I live in Michigan and a front plate is not required, but I dont want holes in my bumper so I was going to replace the cover while my car is in the shop getting repaired from my accident (someone hitting me). The body shop doing the work said he has not had much luck with getting a good replacement panel because they do not fit well and are wavy. I was wondering if anyone has used the clair parts replacement panel and if so how was the fit and finish? Is there anywhere else to get that panel?

Yes, I have the panel. Clair's comes from Audi as I recall, i.e. it's original equipment. I got mine painted for just under $100. It is not quite as good a fit as I'd like, with some very small interference in fit, making for some "waves". Very hard to see, but they're there. Removal of old panel was not as easy as I thought it would be, but it came out. Search for instructions...

I replaced mine. Local body shop painted it. It looks and fits great.
