Default Funny, the TT stays of interest... I was driving to work yesterday

stopped first at the light, in the right lane of a two lane left turn. Beside me are two obviously college girls in a Honda... The light turns, I do my normal highly modified, turbo boosted turn, not trying to impress anyone but myself... however as I am wheeling down the road I see the green Honda doing everything to catch up to me, obviously they were intrigued by my good looks. Another turn to another light and they are right behind me straining their necks, removing their sun glasses to try to figure out what this amazing car may be... just before I launch again I see the driver mouth Q-U-A-T-T-R 0. Funny, 4 years later at it still draws interest. And the TT is sinfully dirty at this time of year, certainly not in show room condition.

Default I was pretty amazed about this sort of thing happening

I bought my car a few weeks ago, and didn't really expect anyone to still be wondering what a TT was. I get a suprising amount of "what kind of car is that?" looks. Not that I am complaining I also like when someone asks you what kind of car it is, to which you respond "It's an Audi TT". "An Audi what?", is the typical question I get back. "A TT... T T Tango Tango". They normally just look at me in a funny way.

to the question of "What kinda car is that?", I always say, "A 2-seat roadster" Leaves 'em guessing.

Default Sometimes, I'm surprised we don't get more looks....

for example...visiting relatives in a small (25k) central Nebraska town, people seem indifferent. Even more surprising, I saw an Aviator Grey 225C sitting on a small used car lot there for 32k. It looked so lonely! Wish I could have brought it home.

Default I have the same problem.

Then there is the standard how much did that cost. This question always makes me anxious. If I tell them $38k do they think I'm some snob?

Default Although not enough for the de-badgers among us, the TT is probably the most under-identified car on

the road. It doesn't even say Audi! 2 sets of rings, TT, and quattro - that's it. People ask me all the time what it is. Of course, that's one of the reasons I got it.
