gear shifter replacemant need HELP
i have a 2001 tt quattro the gear shifter broke, we ordered a replacement
is there any way to replace it with out having to go under the car and pull the heat shield, drive shaft, and the exhaust to replace this part??

When you say the gear shifter broke....
are you refering to: the shifter inside the car, the linkage cables, or the shifter on top on the transmission (changes the gears you can swap it out for a short shifter....but I cant think of what its called right now). Can you see the part that is broken? The only reason I asking is because your linkage cables may only need to be adjusted and not replaced.
