Default GIAC Chip Question

I have had the GIAC Chip installed in my car for over 4 yrs and all of a sudden my engine started dieing intermediately and eventually would not restart. I had it towed into the dealer who said I had a problem with my brake controller sending an error the GIAC chip didn't recognize and it was shutting the car down. So they put my stock ECU back in place and everything was fine. When I got home I threw the chip back in and it still would start. So even though the dealers story sounded funny I thought they might be right. A couple months ago my ESP and Brake light stated coming on so I replaced my lateral speed sensor and that took care of the problem. I once again tried the chip to see if the lateral sensor was sending the error to the Chip and the car started. I drove it around for 30 miles and it died on me twice so I have removed the chip again.

AWE Tuning thought I might have it reflashed but I think they usually just fine tune the boost, air and fuel which wouldn't help me.

I wanted to see if anyone has had similar experiences or any ideas?

Default Re: GIAC Chip Question

I tried the chip in another Audi TT today and everything worked fine. I am considering selling it if any one is interested the number is 8N0 906 018 S. I'll have to look at the recepit but I believe it was $900 or so with the spare ECU.
