it's a 225quattro.
rear sway bar bushings?
rear suspension bushings?
bad wheel bearing(s)?
loose wheel nut(s)?
bad CV joint(s)?
Don't think it's coming from the exhaust though, did a through check yesterday.
Any input greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

I mean, something sounds loose, coming from the rear of the car, when travelling on some rougher...
roads. It sounded like "kink kink kink kink kink". It's pretty soft (reason for not bringing the mechanic along to hear the sound, cos he most probably might not catch it anyway). It's not a squeak, more like tapping on a empty can, definitely not detonation though, as it is coming from the behind me in the suspension (this I'm very sure).
Thanks.
Thanks.

I got this too, while turning, not straightaway. >>>
It also happens when I shift into neutral, so it seems to be based on wheel rotation while moving/coasting, not necessarily to the engagement of the transmission.
in other words, I can't figure it out. dealer blamed it on my miltek pipe being too close to the edge of the tunnel (another repeated topic here)

mine only happens on certain rough roads, not exhaust, u can shake from the tailpipes abit when...
it's cooled to tell if it is. Also got it on a hoist to check all the fittings for the exhaust and all seems fine too.
