Grand Jury Summons... Need help from some of the experts here...
Ok, if getting married and purchasing a house at the same time isn't stressful enough, I've been graciously invited by the L.A. superior court to appear before them on December 11th for a jury selection process.
I'm getting married on Dec. 21st and my Fiancé and I are still running around trying to get things done for the wedding. And we're heading off to our honeymoon about a week later for a period one week. Meanwhile we will be trying to close escrow on a house and move into it. The jury duty summons couldn't of come at a worst time!!!
Does my current situation disqualify me from the jury selection process?

Cross your fingers
I actually had a Grand Jury Summons (I mean me!) for the dates of TT-West. I was going to send in my paperwork but never did and I never got the call. The paperwork I had basically said I will be called if I am chosen.
Of course if you have the paperwork saying you HAVE to go in (as oppose to call) then I think you're going to have to go

Well.... Probably......(don't you hate that?)
There are rarely any automatic disqualifications to a jury summons (especially GJ). In all likelihood, there is a jury management office phone number on your summons. You should call that # and explain the situation with particular detail as to the dates you will be unavailable.
Don't worry, you won't be yanked into court by a Sheriff. You may have to attend those dates where you have no conflict (GJ usually meets 1 day a week for several weeks). It's also possible that you can have the entire service postponed several months.
If you have trouble after calling, send me an e-mail.
