This is great: Audi designing TT Coupe-shaped shoe for Addidas and Kobe Bryant (article inside)

Shoehorning into TT
It was a once-in-a-lifetime assignment for Audi designer Derek
Jenkins, who works in the German automaker's Simi Valley design
center in southern California.
The mission from shoemaker Adidas: Design a special athletic shoe
for all-star guard Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers patterned
after the popular TT coupe.
It was a marketing coup, pairing one of the most telegenic stars
in the NBA with a car that has been on many automotive "best buy"
lists. Jenkins finished the custom black shoes in time for Bryant to
wear them on the way to winning the 2000 NBA championship.
"The shoe does follow the lines of the car," said Audi
spokesperson Jennifer Garber. "And, apparently, they will be on the
market this winter. Adidas is calling them 'The Kobe.'"
There's only one small hitch in this Cinderella story. The shoes
may fit Bryant perfectly, but the car doesn't. If Audi decides to
give him a TT for promotional purposes, it will have to be modified
to fit his 6-foot-7, 215-pound frame. Unreleased promotional photos
show the superstar shoe horned into a too-small Audi coupe.

I'll bet there's a recall if Kobe sprains his ankle wearing them..
...or will there be a tiny spoiler glued to the heel?<p><a href="http://www.tiac.net/users/cpopolo" target="_new"><img src="http://www.tiac.net/users/cpopolo/images/Cpanim.gif" alt="Carl"></a>
