Default Green/Black/Black on order... anyone want this spot in line? Cary, NC

Yup, I as my signature states, I have a red/black/black. So, I really don't need the green one I have on order (even though I really really do want to have two).

So, here's the deal...

Desert Green/Black/Black with premium, audio and nav (no phone).

I have no idea when the car is coming in. When I call the dealer again I want to tell them to release my spot in line or that I will take the car but it will go under another name. I haven't been paying attention to my credit card bills lately so I don't know if they ever ran my deposit. If they have NOT run my credit card for the deposit, they do NOT have to honor my spot in line.

So, do I make sure they get the deposit run through? I'd love to be able to help someone who wants to get a car fast if at all possible.

If this doesn't appeal to anyone that's fine with me. I guess if I don't hear anything in a week or so I'll just go and remove my name from the list.

Oh, and I'm not after making any money on this. Just trying to help people out. When all is said and done, whoever gets to me first will end up paying whatever Audi wants for the car (they've been telling me MSRP).

Perhaps Im mistaken, but I remember reading somewhere in the forums that the dealer doesnt have to honor your spot in line if you give/sell your spot to someone else....the contract is between YOU and the dealer...<p>Bob McCown

Default I'm not sure how it works, but I figure it might be worth a shot...

There are two ways to look at it. If I have a deposit down with a dealer, I can buy the car right? So, I use someone else's money and tell the dealer to put down that other person's name on the title. Maybe I'm a little off, but seems like this would work?

Also, the dealer wants to sell the car. So, they don't sell it to me but do sell it to someone else at the same time. Would they care? Or would they rather go through their list of people to try to find someone who wants it. Since I am ordering one of the more expensive options (with Navigation even) the dealer will have a harder time finding a match I think.

What do you think? Am I completely off base?

Default Speaking for the dealer we've worked with, they'd rather have you provide the substitute. (The old

Default Sure seems to make more sense. Less work for the dealer.

Default Bill...said dealer did not cash my deposit check. When I lost my patience (more)

with them and decided to go to another dealer, they gave me the exact check back that I had written. I'm sure they'd be happy to have you sell the car for them...especially your salesman. When that car does come in and you turn it down, he might not be the one to make the sale.

Just FYI

Default The way I'm driving my TT, I'll be in for the 5k before the green shows up! :-)
