unit. Does the brake light assembly remove without taking off the entire plastic cover that surrounds the inside of the rear window? or is there an easier way? Another little project and just want some info...this isn't too far OT is it ;-)

Default Roadsters anyway are tough

My dad's car had the light fail early on (I think it was a lose connection) and they ended up taking apart a fair amount of the inside of the car to get to it... Don't know anything about coupes though - knowing Audi they would make it hard just because

good luck

Default If it's anything like the roadster, you need to lift up, and remove the plastic cover at the back...

this gives you access to the mounting screws, and to the cable.

You can *carefully* lift up the back edge, and then the cover releases from these pins here.

Once you get the cover off. (Looks like this)

You will see the T-25's and you can remove it. I had to go into the trunk area to get at the connector.

On the roadster, this whole red plastic piece is ultrasonically welded shut.
*NO WAY* will it come apart, save for destroying the unit.
I was going to attempt this, with a small Dremel cutting wheel, but I decided against it.
