Have you cleaned inside your fender liners?

Turns out you can collect a lot of, uh, stuff in there. And this is before I cleaned the bottom rear wheel well gently with running water.

Same thing I clean the outside of the car with...
but of note is that your fender liners will trap stuff over the years - and that stuff, combined with moisture, is a flashpoint for rust.
This is a picture with the black fender liner removed, and the detritus of six years removed from between the wheel well and fender liner.

sure, every time i wash the car, which is every day it's driven ...
unwashed fender liners are a pet peeve. especially at night (when the headlights from a car in a neighboring lane catch them), they look terrible.
