Default help with bad coil pak confirmation

Got in the car to drive, turned on the AC and the car started stuttering and I threw a cel. Felt like I was driving on 3 cylinders.
I was able to clear the cel by disconnecting the ECU for :10 min but then I repeated the same steps and threw a cel again. I have a DVR, REVO SPS1, and the TTDA. The symptoms sound like some of the same ones in the search for bad coil pak. Can I drive 15 miles back and forth to work today and tomorrow until I can take it in on Monday or should I park it?

Better to park it. Is there someone in your area with a VAG-COM?

Default other symptoms

Drove in (work is closer to the dealer than home) and it seems to stutter at 3800/4000 rpm especially in 3rd and 4th gear. When I do a rolling start after slowing down at a light it seems like it wants to stall in second and feels like I accidently put it in third when I meant to put it in first.

Default That's not a coil pack. That's something else...

I don't know what, though.

I think that there are several with VAG's in your area...

You may want to search and then offer beer. ;-)

Default had the same symptoms off and on for a couple weeks recently...

...except the stuttering was through the whole range, not just 3800 to 4000. Also, cruise control would stop working as well (at least once).
Only codes it was throwing were for a bad speed sensor. It's been replaced and the car is running fine.
Don't understand what the connection was...

That sounds much more likely to me.

Default It's through the whole range just most noticable at those rpms.

I guess it seems more pronounced because those are my normal shift points. I'll take all these ideas to the dealer when I take it in tomorrow. Thanks.

Default Coil pak confirmed!

Finally took the car in at 8:00 am this morning. Told the service guy the ideas I got off the forum. Was told i'd hear back by 1:00 pm. Went window shopping and to breakfast. Got a call at 10:30 am. Car was all ready to be picked up. Replaced the coil paks. That is the fastest service I'd ever heard of. Good job Royall Motors in San Francisco. Their parts department leaves a bit to be desired though. They wanted $130 for the reconditioned MAF and $100 for the 3.2 rear valance. The poor guy behind the counter didn't know what it was. I asked him if he'd ever seen a 3.2 V6 TT?
