Default Help! Battery Replacement - Do you have to reprogram anything...

after installing the new one? The Dealership wants $260 for a new battery and "reprograming". Is this correct?

You have to reset the radio, clock, date/time.

Yep, you can replace it yourself - very easy. Search here for recommended batteries.

Default Thats the same price my dealer in Alabama quoted. I said no thanks.

Used a battery powered "code keeper " plugged into the lighter plug while changing battery and everythings still working. Saved $150.00 + too. Lazy tach at start up is no more. ( Seems to be first sign of fading battery.)
I told my dealer service rep I liked him, but I didn't like him THAT much!

I've seen a device that you can plug into the cigarette lighter that will keep your settings for you while you change batteries.
