My driver's side window won't roll back up. I'm assuming it's my window motor. I took the door panel off (thanks to the awesome write-ups in here) and when I stick my key in the ignition and turn it for some juice, I can hear the window motor ticking and ticking and ticking (is that normal?). Then when I touched it, it was pretty hot. Most likely, the motor is toast. I think.

Is there a temporary way to put my window back up until I can go out and buy a new window motor/regulator!?

I think it's going to rain tomorrow. I don't want to tape a grocery bag to my car!

Try *lightly* tapping the metal case of the motor with a small hammer in sync with the ticking noise. I've done it a few times now and so far it has made the mechanism work again. It seems like something jams up the whole works but the problem isn't the motor itself.

I was reading a post on fourtitude about someone removing his motor and being able to push the window back up.

I went ahead and did that this morning, along with the spindle, and the cables are now all loose. I think I just made everything worse. Anyways, the window wouldn't budge at all still so now I have a motorless window that's all the way down and cables hanging.
