Default Help needed! Antifreeze question

Replaced the coolant sensor but forgot to tighten the filler cap before I pulled the sensor and lost a lot of antifreeze, including draining the reservoir. No VW/Audi dealers open today. Local parts shop says Preston's orange color is equivalent but I also see that Prestone makes a pre-mixed clear product that claims is good for ANY make and model car. The alternative is to refill with water and then drain and refill tomorrow when I can get to Audi/VW product. Advice please!

Default refill with distilled water only>>

then drain and refill with proper mixture tomorrow. it will be impossible to get all the orange stuff out and your coolant won't be pink anymore.

Default Forgot to mention the alternative Prestone pre-mix product is clear.

Is the Audi/VW stuff THAT special or is it just the color?

Default Answer: Pentosin is equivalent. Stay clear of the Prestone stuff

Pentosin G12 is listed on several audi/VW performance parts sites. Bracketracer gives it a thumbs up too.

Default Good luck finding that on a Sunday.

I repeat... fill with distilled water. Then drain some out tomorrow, and pour in some G12. If you keep track of how much you're adding / removing, you can do some simple calculations to return it to an approximate 50/50 mix.
