2000 Audi TT Coupe, 93K miles: Have owned it for only 2 months however for the past 1.5 months its been in and out of the shop. I'm suffering from the dreaded Oil Pressure issue. Intermittently the RED oil pressure alarm comes on at various times. Usually after the engine is warm.

Brought it to reputable European Car shop and they said it the engine is sludge free, which was surprising. They recommended replacing the oil pump. $1000 later I get it back and the car was fine for a week and the oil pressure warning returned. Back to the shop, they run some exhaustive tests on it and see that its fine cold and then drops pressure after it heats up good. They are stumped and now recommend replacing an oil pressure valve in the oil filter/pump assembly. This is another $600.00

I'm sick, that this car could be junk after paying 7 grand for it.

Do any of the experts have an opinion? Silly question, would trying seafoam hurt?
