HELP PLEASE electrical gremlins: door ajar, lights on
Hi. 2000 TT started falsing - alarm went off 2-3 times day for no reason. I've had it for long enough to know that was weird.
Coincident with that, I drive along and all of a sudden (seems to be when I go over certain kinds of bumps, but I'm not sure): (1) the car thinks the driver's side door is ajar, (2) the the key-in-ignition-but-door-open beep turns on, (3) the cabin lights turn on, (4) the dash door ajar display goes on, and (5) the driver's side window goes down that tiny bit like it does when you actually open the door.
It happened three times, all at highway speeds. The door isn't actually open so there's no danger of falling out or anything, but it is troubling and makes it hard to see at night. Sometimes it only happens for a second, sometimes for longer and then I pull over, open the door, and shut it.
So I take it into the dealer, and of course they can't reproduce the problem (they had the car for over a week). I drive it home from the dealer last night, and the demonic possession happens about 10 times in the 25 miles home, then a handful of times on the way to work today. Alarm just falsed again too.
Any suggestions? Similar experiences? It's pretty stressful, so any help would be appreciated.

You need a new locking mech + a new controller unit in the door
The dealer knows it's a problem, they're just bull****ting you. Tell them that if they don't fix it, you'll talk to AoA because it's a well-known fact that this is a huge problem among most (if not all) TTs.
