Help please: Need help deciding between 2001 coupe or roadster!
My friend is looking to buy a 2001 225 coupe or roadster, but he can't decide which to get. He definitely wants a 225hp quattro.
He is quite fond of the baseball leather available in the roadsters, but he likes the complete look of the coupe.
any comments or suggestions??
thanks in adavance!

It's all preference, unless you're looking for practicality.....
then, the coupe is definitely the answer -- Much more room. Personally, I love the lines of the coupe, but if it's a roadster you want, I doubt you would regret it.

I'm partial to the Coupe for these reasons:
1) Beautiful lines of the design (don't like the Roadster roof lines)
2) Fits a whole lotta stuff. The most practical sports car!
3) Coupe is slightly lighter and therefore slightly faster
4) Coupe is slightly stiffer (advantage for handling) because it has a roof
5) I don't like to be baked in the sun-- both windows down is fine with me.
6) Allowable in more types of track and motorsport events, again because it has a roof.
Pic of full camping gear for two... could still see out the back easily. Plenty of room up front.

I've owned both a coupe and a roadster ...
and the cargo room given up when I bought the latter didn't take any getting used too. I would say that in my case that was the only possible "drawback". For a sports car, the TTC offers a cavernous amount of cargo space ... I kept my rear seats folded down all the time and had no problem fitting just about anything in there.
Of course I'm also not married and have no children. Incidentally my TTR is my only car - all year round.
Just my $0.02.

I agree on all reasons Evan, but add that in place of camping gear you can fit one large dog, or 2
mid size dogs or even 3 small dogs! With room to spare! :-)

and Thud (large), Spam (large), Stella (mid-size), Muscle-Butt (mid-size) and Brillo (3 legged so there is a lesser performance weight penalty)

deciding between 2001 coupe or roadster
I own the roadster, and it's main advantage of course is being able to put down the top. However, top down driving is not always comfortable: it can sometimes be too hot, too cold, too dirty or too loud outside. The coupe has several advantages: it is cheaper, arguably better looking, has a stiffer chassis, better handling, is lighter, quieter, and way more roomy.
