help: shipping tt across country
i'm looking to ship my tt from dc->sf (east to west coast) sometime in the next few weeks. i'd ideally like to have it shipped in a covered truck (NOT a driveaway).
has anyone done this or have any recommendations?
please drop me an email if you have any good information as i don't drop by this message board very often.

I'll copy this into email also, but...
We've shipped Porsches, Audi's, Lotuses, etc. between houses in Mass., IL, and WA, without any trouble. Reliable seems to do a good job, moves the cars in covered trucks, etc.
We've never had a problem with them, but I'm just as glad we didn't get a play-by-play update of what happened between locations. Make sure the car is PERFECTLY detailed before it leaves, if it doesn't arrive perfect, complain. If the odometer difference is more than 5 miles, complain. If ANYTHING appears scratched, rubbed, buffed, etc., complain. Specify that no one is to touch the car and that you will take legal action if anything happens to the car.

Depends, took us ~11 days, but...
... that was from dealership to dealership, so the fact that we picked it up 11 days later doesn't really tell you much, since it was sitting in the lot when we got there. If the dealership at the receiving end had pushed a bit harder, my guess is that it could have moved a lot faster. It's just a trailer, I'm sure they can move it as fast as you like within reason.
Boston to Redmond is pretty far to move anything, though...
