Default HELP:Still smell transmission oil

I changed my transmission oil yesterday, but when I drove on freeway I smell the transmission oil for about 5 seconds and it is gone. But this morning when I drove on freeway, I smell it about 5 seconds again, I wonder what happend?
I pumped 3qts into transmission but the oil did not spill out. When I fill the oil, I drove my car on the ramp, so my car car wasn't leveled. Is that the problem caused the smell?

I leveled my car today and open the fill hole, about 1/5 qt came out and I cleaned up the oil around fill hole and go for a test drive, it was fine.
But tonight I test drive again, I still smell the transmission oil, I wonder why?
Can anyone tell me where is the vent hole, I'm guessing there is still some oil cause the smell.
Anyone overfilled transmission oil before? please give me some advice.

Default did you remove both drain plugs? edited

both the trans and bevel box?

assuming quattro, 3 qts won't over fill it, if it was completely drained

edit: the capacity chart says 2.7 qts, so 3 qts is over filled.

fwiw, I drain mine at 50k mile intervals and have put the full 3 qts in... this way for 100k+ with no problems
