HELP! Thinking about buying a 2001 Certified TT Roadster w/ 12,000 miles. OPINIONS PLEASE!
I am actually from the A4 Forum, but my parents are thinking about buying a 2001 Audi Certified 1.8, 180 HP, FWD, TT Roadster with 12,000 miles. The dealer is asking $29,999. The main options are leather, power top, xenons, bose, and heated seats and is a stick.
My questions are...
Was 2001 a good year for the TT (Reliability, Etc)
Why do you think the mile are so low? Accident? Older owner? (Dealer would not tell us who previously owned the car... ie, is this OK to buy)
What was the original sticker on this car. I've looked around, but could not get a concrete number... I'm guessing $37ish??
Should I just spend the extra $7k and get a new 2004? (i.e. this car is 3 model yeas old)
Anything else I should know????
Thanks in advance!!!

Go for it... Try 42K new, and most people use a Roadster as a fun car so miles are always low....and
2001 was the first year of the TT Roadster. Prices vary around the country but I think the condition and miles of the car is more important than price. Sounds like a good deal where I live.

Buy It!
I just bought a 01' Couple with 12k miles for $27,500.. best purchase I've ever made.. It's still got the warranty and its in great shape.. plus, you don't have to worry about dealer depreciation..
Just my .02

I have a 2001 TTQR I bought used.... >
I love it. I paid the same price for mine and it had 19k miles. I bought it from Carmax and they had no problem telling me where it came from. It was a lease return... I love the car and not had a single problem with it. Good luck and go for it!

that's pretty expensive for that particular car...you could definitely get
a newer 225hp roadster for about that amount. The sticker was probably around 37k depending on a couple options. I would definitely get the service history of teh car from the service dept.
