Heresy?

Today I saw something I had never seen before: pin stripes on a TT.

Now, no offense to anyone who might have them, but I've never seen a post on this forum about pin stripes on a TT, or seen any pics of a pin-striped TT, and quite frankly, I thought the practice of pin-striping had become quite passé in recent years.

It was a silver roadster, and it had a double pin stripe, in black, starting from about 1" from the top edge of the headlight cover and about 1" in towards the hood from the outside edge of the headlight cover, and went back to a similar position over the rear taillight cover. They were hand-painted (not a decal), and appeared to be an excellent job.

To be frank, I was revolted by the white TT, but this may have outdone it. Boy did I regret not having my digital camera in the car (not that the owner would have appreciated seeing his/her car put up for the laser-like scrutiny this forum can provide) :-)
I did stick around to see if the owner would show, but alas, no one claimed it.

If you read this, silver pin-striped roadster in the parking lot of the Office Depot on SW 27th avenue in Miami, please post a pic (or not, depending on how this post develops) :-D

Yeah, I don't get no respect . . .

if there weren't cars w/ pinstripes, big wings, decals, graphics, rings, poop exhausts . . .

WHAT WOULD I LAUGH AT?

Every one is entitled to one's own opinion (and taste), no matter how "wrong" it may be.

Ack! If you're gonna stripe, don't be a Wuss about it....>>>

Gotta say, A TT does not lend itself to pinstriping. Probably the dealers idea. (you know, that extra markup stuff like fabric guard). Certain cars wear stripes well...My old Miata fer instance.....

Are you kidding? I'm glad you didn't have the camera b/c I liked my lunch.

Could see white ones like that on a blue TT

ChiRings 11-26-2001 10:22 AM

I'm sorry

I normally am not one to condone ripping on others' TT's. But, I'm sorry. In this case, I have to say that is a terrible thing to do to a TT. Maybe a picture would help my opinion. But, I'm pretty sure it could NOT look good.

Anyone want to photoshop some blue stripes on a white one for me?

I think it would look cool off center, to the right.

Back-side.....

I don't know why people rip on the white TT. I think it looks great!

You can see the lines of the car very well, just like the silver. The darker colors hide some of the lines that make the TT such a good looking car.

You show me a white TT with tinted windows and I'll show you one bad-ass looking sports coupe!

Hundreds of striped Miata's here, plus.....>>>

the "stripe machine" check out your color combos.

The stripe machine + more.....
