Default High Boost Hesitation....

Ive been running the REVO software on my 2001 225 TT for the past year. I have also had the Modshack stage 3 on my car for quite sometime with a Forge front mount intercooler. The vehicle has always been set to run at 22-24psi, spiking occasionally at 26psi under full boost.

last night i was driving on the highway on 6th gear. after fully warming up and hitting 26psi, my car started to hestitate and skip. i let off and tried it again when switching lanes, same thing. the engine would bog and start hesitating around 18+psi.

i then tried to see what would happen if i kept on the throttle to see if it would pass through the hesitation. my check engine light sputtered on and then went off. i back off my boost machine one full turn. no difference. i tried to pull codes this morning and nothing was stored. the condition is still occuring.

a sign of bad coils? plugs? injectors?

another note: i have not been driving this car on a normal basis. i have already purchased another car. i was thinking possible some moisture in the gas tank, but this seems unlikely. i may drive this only about once or twice a week.

thanks for the help

Coilpacks or plugs. VAG-COM it to find out which cylinder is missing.

Default Mine started to do the same thing last week. I scanned last night...

and saw P0411 Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect FLow Detected. This seems to be more related to cold start sputtering, not fully warmed up sputtering. I changed out my DVR diaphragm thinking that it possibly was bad. It looked fine though (no tears or holes), yet I still changed it out since I had it apart. It did not act up on the way to work this a.m. But I'm not convinced I fixed it. We'll see...

Default Thanks. I still don't have any stored codes.

I will try to take a road test with the VAG later and monitor the cylinders. Ive never used VAG before, but I have used other manufacturers diag tools. Anything special i should know before i dink around with it?

Default if i had to guess id say its the "REVO software" ...... ahah......

but really id say scan it if no code's u probably just need to flog it. my TT dosnt like to sit much. if i let my TT sit for mroe than 30days it needs about 100-150 miles of use to get back to normal. and its not a software issue..... more like a im mad at u for not playing w/ me issue haah....

Default My CEL light finally came on and stayed on.....

P0303 .... looks like I'll be replacing coils.

Should I just go ahead and replace the coil , or should I be looking for another cause of the misfire? Can I get away with just replacing one?

Default Yes, you can just replace the one coil. I keep a couple spares on hand for when

one fails and then change it out.

You could do a check first to see if it is the coil or the plug. Swap the coil with another one and see if the misfire follows it. If it does, it is the coil, if it doesn't it may well be the sparkplug.
