Default Home sweet home, ordered that Audi computer case tonight

I am building myself a new system and have wanted that Audi case someone posted around here. So I went to my favorite online computer case store and ordered it. I will post pics when everything is up an running (they wanted to charge me $202 for overnight shipping- more then double what the case cost- looks like it will take a few more days then planned)

Here is a link of the case I got

http://store.yahoo.com/directron/poweriii.html</a

Default Directron has great prices. My latest computer came from them.

I think they charged $15 to build it after I picked out the motherboard, CPU, power supply, fans, memory, case, DVD, CDRW, and sound card. Actually everything but the video card (they carried it 2 days after I ordered) and the OS.

They did screw up on one thing though. I ordered a special edition (Asus Black Pearl) mobo and they installed the standard one. I didn't feel like swapping everything out and still have it in the box.

Maybe I'll get one of those cases too. Looks pretty good. I'll skip the overnight.

Default So what's up with this? This can't be our Audi?

And if it's not - why/how are they using the Audi name?

Still - a nice case. What are you building, Tom?

Default Cool Tom! My parts started arriving yesterday. Almost done...>>

Thought about the Audi case, but decided to go all aluminum with a Lian Li, Soyo K7 Dragon W/ AMD 1700XP.......Onboard Raid support. Should kick butt when done. What's going in yours?

Steve's Computer Project

Default That's a pretty nice looking case there...

Are you going to put neon lights in there like all the kids are doing these days?

I used to wonder why nobody did that sort of thing with computers back when I was into car stereos...Now there's people with cases that have custom paint jobs, neon lights, custom panels, and who knows what else. I guess I was just ahead of my time.

Default Don't get into that unless you are looking for a divorce or loose a GF or something...

Once you start, you can't stop !! Once upon a time I spent sleepless nights trying to squeeze 1 or 2 deg C out of the system. Worth it but I almost killed myself !! (And my GF almost killed me !).

Can't say my modification "bug" was the main reason for my divorce, but i'll bet it didn't help
