Honestly...who else is tempted by the G35 coupe and Z coming out in the fall? Can they be modded?

Bld quality alone..
at least for the Z is a concern, even if it was 100% better then the Maxima I rented it still would need impovement, not to mention quality of materials.
G35 will be much better I am sure. That is more tempting, but still no quattro.

Yeah, G35 and Z are nice, but my ultimate temptation is the Dodge Razor by virtue of bang-for-buck..
<a href="http://www.dodge.com/autoshow/news_events/razor/">Dodge Razor</a>
It's not a sure thing that it will even be built (it's just a concept car for now).
1. Looks. Designed by Freeman Thomas. Yes, it's apparent that he recycled a few TT ideas... but I think the Razor is a nice looking car.
2. Weight. So at 2500 lbs, it's not as light as a lotus exige. But at $15k, it's less than half the price! Street legal, too!
3. Performance: 0-60 in 6.0, 140 mph top speed.
4. Price. Yeah... $15k. That's mega cheap. You can buy two of these and still spend less than the cost of one TT.
5. Technology: RWD, MacPherson front susp. and multi-link coil-over rear susp. 2.4 liter turbocharged/intercooled I4.
6. Size: think "miata". I bet this thing is as nimble as they get!
I'm sure it won't be nearly as nice as the TT, or even the Z or G35 when it comes to build quality and creature comforts. But it's light, cheap, and fast. The first american car that's made me smile in a long long time.
The razor wouldn't make me jump ship from the TT, because the style and quality are significant factors in why I love my TT. The TT is based on the same platform as the Beetle, which is an extremely safe car. I value that highly. But I can _barely_ afford the TT, and sometimes cheap cars that can outperform the TT make me wistful. Sometimes I think I'd have more fun with a cheaper car because I'd have money left over to attend all the track events I possibly could. But nah... when it's all said and done, I'd just wish I had a TT.

tempted.... like I'm tempted to cover my body in honey and jump in an ant hill. 280HP is nothing.
who cares if it has 280hp. It's still a nissan and in a year the car, with all it's soft hollow plastic parts and thrown together feel will blend in with the rest of the soulless commuter vehicles out there.
If I were shopping for a new car I would consider the G35. It's a nice looking car. But mainly becuase I would hope the build quality and materials would be a step above the typical nissan tripe. But I would not trade in my TT for one simply because it has 280HP. There are plenty of auto makers that do high HP better than nissan ever dreamed of doing it and offer equal build quality.

280hp?
Okay your in the mid to high 30's range and what does that mean? Fords new supercharged cobra which will pump out 390hp (which we all know is underrated).. Your other option is a Corvette which pumps out 350 hp.. So my question is whats the big deal with 280hp when you got the option of 350 or 390? Looks aside, if your after power get american muscle.. Theres no question about it.. If you want a TT with power, things can be done.. Just give APR a call.. No way I would trade my TT in for anything but another TT (yeah 911 TT)....

base vette starts at $42k. the base Z is $27k. the track model is $34k, close to the new cobra...
but would you really want to drive a ford?
how many cars have 280+hp for under $30k?
