Default How about a hierarchical approach to this saga of the forums

TT Forum
- On Topic TT Forum
- Off Topic TT Forum

A4/S4 Forum
- On Topic As/S4 Forum
- Off Topic A4/S4 Forum

There would be an option, in one's preferences to view posts from 1 or both forums.

Another option would exist for the default forum for new posts. Of course replys to existing posts would fall under the original post's forum.

I'm not a web developer so I don't know how much effort and time it would take to change the forum software, but it seems to me that you (moderators) would not have to spend your days moderating posts.

Just a thought...

Default Makes sense.

Only as a convenience to the membership.
I just hope posts about cars in general (other manufacturers) are on topic.

Default Think we are over-reacting to one bad episode - if these episodes continue,

take two forums and call me in the morning.

Hey, Gang, Let's put this episode in the memory bank. If we have several more serious aberrations, let's consider another option.

Default Basically, they should do it like this:

When someone makes an OT post, they voluntarily check a box below the text field and above the post button indicating that it is OT.

Everyone will have a preference to view or not view OT posts- much like what already exists for (Moderated) posts.

Easy.

Agreed, same principle. Your way might be easier to implement

This would allow the mgmt to not store OT posts after 10 days (or some arbitrary amount of time)

Why can't all OT just go to the OT forum?
