Default How do I add a second cigarette lighter?

I have an '04 TT with 225hp and I would like to add a second 12volt adapter. I've tried looking around, but I'm having a hard time finding some nice tutorials.

I'm just looking for some examples but can't seem to find any.

Can you splice this in as a second plug, or is it unsafe to keep the OEM?

Default If you don't overload the circuit it would be fine. You won't overload it unless you use an actual

cigarette lighter in each. Ipod, radar detector, phone charger, etc. draw very little current, so using both for those would be fine.

Default Wow thats really clean, I had seen it in a few peoples sigs

Didn't realize they meant such a clean install.

I was gonna do something similar in my jetta a few years back but basically hide an inverter in the console and have a regular wall plug (kind of like a toyota matrix) and also some sort of other plug to go to my laptop for vag com that I would hardwire to the back of the OBD II port, never got around to it though.

Default Some cell phone chargers have big draws so be careful

I've seen charges take out 20 amp fuses. Alot of car chargers are fast chargers not slow trickle charges like the one you plug into the wall at home, so they draw alot of power and can overload the circuit.

Add on sirius and XM modules that go through the cig port also tend to draw alot.
