How do we feel about the K&N filter? (AkRascal's post below piqued my interest)
Has anyone noticed power gains when installing a K&N?
Is it overrated?
TTStuff.com has it...

Possibly a negative. >>>>
Had this problem on my old 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S. The "cleanable" oily substance on the air filters have a tendency to gum up valves. This was proven on my Turbo. I had to do a gasket replacement. When I removed the cam tower and the valvetrain, I found some nasty gummy goo that had coated itself all over the valves. I called a buddy of mine, told him the deal. His first question - "...do you have a K&N." Caution on these. The factory elements are more than adequate. My .02 cents...
