How easy/hard is it to clean a convertible top?
I have never had a convertible until my GF's so I dont know how to clean them. I know my 1966 Mustang is hard to clean with its vynil top.

Not hard at all...
I've gotten away with mild soap and a brush. I waterproof once a year to keep the dirt, salt, and sand out.
I like Porsche Techquipment and Rag Top for waterproofing.

I use Raggtop cleaner and 303 fabric protector
Not too tough. Rinse with clear water, spray with cleaner, brush gently with soft bristle brush in direction of fabric weave, let dry, spray with protectant.
Also be sure to RTM.

Another Porsche/Raggtop user here. When I wash the car, I only rinse the top - too much soap
use and mechanical abrasion from brushes or sponges on the fabric can degrade the fibers.

First time through you'll need several coats of the protectorant. This is the time to mask the body to control overspray.
Acetone is the cleanup for the windows.
And it's way better to do the protectorant when it's warm otherwise it doesn't penetrate and takes a long time to bond with teh fabric.

Before summer I hope. I got all excited about the 3" catback on Vortex
But it looks like I would need a shop to fabricate a coupler, so I will probably pass.
I also bought some soft reusable aluminum gaskets to use instead of the supplied tri-layer ones. I want the job to be permanent when I put it in.
