How long for Rear sway bar install?
I'm going to install my Neuspeed 22mm rear sway bar soon, but I'm wondering how long I'll need to do it, and do I really need to drop the exhaust? I've got access to a hoist and a full set of tools. Thanks.

Mine's arrived too: What's the deal with teflon tape--does it really help?
I'm prob'ly not going to drill and tap grease fittings... so I'm wondering about the teflon tape approach. Does it really help reduce squeeks?

Did you remove the exhaust? So the bar can be "threaded" through above the shield?
If that is the case, all you need to do is remove two nuts from the old bar, remove, put in new, tighten two bolts - right? Everything - wheels, exhaust, heat shield - remain mounted?
That would be cool!
I personally unmounted all of the above items. Longest time was tire removal and mounting grease nipples into the mount brackets. Even so it was less than two hours. Without taking pictures, installing the nipples, or removing the tires (certainly not needed) it should take less than an hour.

Neuspeed Fotki

With the new slotted bushings a liberal use of the Nuespeed grease you shouldn't need anything else
I've NEVER had squeaking problems with ANY neuspeed rear bar on any of the four VW's I've owned that had em.

No squeeks, eh? Do you live in a cold or warm climate?
And what do you mean "slotted bushings?"
I just received my bar from TTstuff and the red bushings are smooth on the inside... they have the number 5563 molded on the side. Are there newer ones available?
