How many of you guys/gals have the Audi ipod adapter?
does it work well?
It says not compatible with cars that have the 6 disc changer... does this mean I can't use it at all or that I just have to remove the cd changer to hook up the adapter?
I'm getting tired of having 5 cases full of cd's floating about the interior... they're a PITA and the CD I want is always in the one case not in the car or I can't reach the case while driving...
I figure maybe I should get with the times already ( I don't even own an ipod yet heh)

I do. I pulled my CD changer to connect. Works great! Still have a single CD in-dash.

If you are going for an adaptor with the stock stereo - i'd suggest
getting the Dension interface. You do lose your CD changer, but it works well. In a perfect world - i'd dump the stock headunit and look into an alpine unit with Ipod capability - they are simply plug and play and have excellent integration. I can't believe how much better it is controlling the Ipod with my Kenwood vs my factory unit.

I have the OEM Ipod kit that I bought from ECS.....It works great..
If you intend to stay with the stock head unit then this is the route to go. I have an 02 with the Bose concert II. Having the 6 disk changer does not proclude you from using this kit. You will lose the capability of using the changer, but once you start using the ipod you will not even use the in dash CD. All the connections and installation are done on the wiring harness behind the head unit. You do not have to physically remove the CD changer. You will have to de-pin the CD changer connections on the harness and wire in the ipod kit in it's place. The hardest part is removing the pins from the harness. Once you have it wired in you use the head unit to control the ipod. Keep in mind that you will not see the song artist or title on the head unit if this is what you are looking for as a function of the kit. You build 5 or 6 playlist on your ipod and you can also sort through your entire library. I really like mine and I installed mine in the cubby below the ashtray for convenience instead of the glove box. I am sure you can understand why that is the best place for it.

Dani, I 2nd the Dension. That's what I have, no cd changer capability, but the stock HU controls...
can control the ipod. Of course, the big complaint is that it doesn't display the artist/title on the HU. I have an '02 with Bose Concert II.
