How water resistant is the TT's engine for washing?

How water resistant is the TT's engine for washing?
If I use a light cleaner and a light spray of water can I wash down the engine compartment or will it get into the sensors and stuff?

engine bays are made to handle water...
lots of people hose down the engine bay...of course, don't do it for HOURS....but a limited exposure does nothing.
after all....when it rains, water gets into the engine y'know?
