I think I'm clever enough. I don't know where to find that sort of switch though.
I checked the link below but I don't see a part number or anything associated with the micro switch. Is this something I should be able to pick up at a Radio Shack or would I have to find a specific one online somewhere?

I've been in and out of that club a few times!
My latest fix has been to spray the above mentioned microswitch with electronics parts cleaner. Did that about four months ago and it has been been holding up since!
