I don't understand all the hate on the DSG. Buy a Miata if you want something that "feels" fast.

The DSG simply outperforms the manual.
The Miata is a purer driving experience, that gets its doors blown off on the track.

Some cars work well, others don't..>>
Surprisingly the Miata reviews on the 6 speed paddleshifter trans were extremely positive by the Reviewers..
Actually I like the Auto on the Mini...responsive and fun even for a conventional (Japanese) auto. Paddleshifter, sport or conventiona mode. I can see liking a DSG depending on the car (and that's a new revelation for me that you haven't heard before)
the DSG is unfortunately complex which will haunt it in future years..

It's a great system for people that don't get any sort of satisfaction
from rowing their own gears. For me alot of the fun of driving out in my playground is the actual act of driving, steering, braking and nailing gear changes, especially late downshifts on the way into corners. There's no one up there with a stopwatch so a faster gearchange does nothing for me.
Technically it's a brilliant system, just a bit too playstation.
