I HATE the Toyota Prius and its drivers....
 

To be honest, i find Prius drivers FAR worse than Hummer drivers these days...there are 2 kinds of Prius drivers:

1. drive slow....reallly reallllllly slow (30mph in a 40mph zone). so slow that i read a license plate on one the other day--which said "tailgate me, and i'll slow down". I really wanted to shout out the window at him: "YOU CANNOT GO ANY SLOWER THAN THAT, SIR!"

2. the kind who think they own a 'fast' car....or even a reasonably quick one! everyone is going 60mph in a 50mph zone...but there's this nasty little Prius going 70mph...trying to weave in and out of traffic. The Prius is an UNBELIEVABLY slow car.....slow even in 80s standards....and if you're gunning it in a Prius, you're gonna get 20mpg mileage----what's the point!? 0-60 times for the Prius are......*drumroll*.....10 seconds!

Awhile back when I had some coilpack troubles. They can initially be quick off the line because of their electric torque, but after that first second or two, it's all over. It's a friggin' ugly car too. Can't they make an environmentally friendly car that looks nice? Whoever is designing these eco cars are definately smokin' some of the ganga mahn!

my take on the prius- I think many people are attracted to the "styling" of the prius...>
 

more for what it represent than the looks. It says a lot about a person who "likes" an ugly car. It says "I don't care about my automobile as a status symbol" (even though they probably traded in a perfectly good vehicle to have a trendy prius). It's almost reverse snobbery. I'm only driving this machine for transportation, therefore, I'm better than you because I don't need an attractive car to satisfy my ego.

The prius is one of the only hybrid-only models, so if you are driving a prius you can sit there all smug and say "I care more about the environment than SUV and sports car drivers." A lot of them are phony environmentalist, what kind of real environmentalist buys a brand new car to help the environment? You are better off keeping a car for a decade than getting a new car every 3-4 years.

Auto makers are loving the whole hybrid craze, just another way to sell more cars in my opinion.

Of course, there are those who don't care about cars and see the prius as a fuel efficient form of transportation, I don't fault them, they are just victims of the marketing. But I think more of them are phonies.

agreed....it is an 'anti car' statement....
 

i just don't see why it has to happen that way. there are plenty of diesel cars in europe that get JUST as much mileage as the Prius, and look waaaaaaaaaay better doing it.

this country is just dieselphobic....sure to change, quite shortly....I HOPE!

I think that would be prett Cool. Maybe a little cumbersome going to a party, but definately a conversation piece.

some of those prius forums boast about getting the best mileage. not a good car for those that own a fast car, that's for sure.

take it for what it is and blow past them.
