I just got my BMC airfilter from the Race Store and its oozing red oil...is this normal?

Should i wipe it off and install it anyway or is this a clear sign of a problem?

sounds like KN filter oil...just lightly wipe of any excess..no big problem though

Yep, wipe off and install. Also, make sure you pick up the >>>

cleaning and re-oiling kit. At some point, you'll need to clean and re-oil so the filter can flow as much air as possible and still pick up all the particles in the air. Depending on where/how you drive your car, you can decide on when to service it. On a K&N, I usually do it every 15,000 mi.
