Default I need to confirm a part # for a coilpack harness on a 2002 AMU motor

I talked to World Impex and they gave me
part # (1J0-971-658-L) but they arent sure if it fits my car cause its for golfs/jettas. Some of the wires are frayed in the coil pack harness and im getting lots of misfires so its time to get a new one!

Default Ummm. I based on that FAQ thread

I bought this for my AMU engine and after quite of bit of experimenting, the folks at Ingolstadt West said it wouldn't work on an AMU. Happy to sell you mine really cheap!

Hey, I go to Ingolstadt West too! They actually mentioned you when I called them about having trouble with fitting the AMU engine. What did you end up doing to resolve the issue?

Some say to splice in good wire from the harness wherever its split or frayed or to just rewrap it with electrical tape

Default Ingolstadt West

We identified something other than the coilpak wires that fixed my problem (unrelated to ignition altogether). I had purchased the harness to throw in there not knowing what the problem was, figuring that with an 8-yr. old car that I plan to keep forever there was no harm in replacing a still functioning harness that had undoubtedly aged. I'll eventually have to confront this. Let me know what you come up with.

what is the part # for the harness you used? i know ingolstadt said it wouldnt fit but it seems russ scott made his work by splicing it in and i think he has an AMU engine. Ian at ingolstadt said he could splice it in as long as i make sure i get the right part that will match to splice in. if i can make yours work i will buy yours

Default From ECS Tuning

SKU ES#7679 (from my receipt). I can go look at the box tonight when I get home to check the actual part no. I gave Ian the service bulletin referenced in the thread.
