Default i need new front brakes but can't afford a bbk any suggestions?

i need new rotors and pads. i was thinking about getting the ecs slotted and cross drilled zinc or cadium plated one and pagid sport pads(dark blue). i also have heard zimmerman rotors are good. i want a brake pad that is low dust and doesn't make very much noise. thanks in advance.

Default definitely get rotors that are cadmium or zinc plated...

I just put some zimmermans on the rear of mine a few weeks back and they already show a lot of rust. I asked on here before I got them and I got about 50/50 response to rusting, but mine rusted within a couple weeks.

Default The rotors I got from ECS were Brembos...>>

Other things to consider

- ATE Super Blue brake fluid
- Stainless brake lines
- TyrolSport Brake Caliper Stiffening kit.

and you'll should have great brakes for a long time.

Default I thought Zimmermans were?

Of course, swept area will always rust.

Default no, and they weren't stated to be...

the pads keep that contact surface clean obviously, but the rest of them already show rust. Not a big deal, they still look better than the stockers, but its not very bling

Yep. Their "OEM" plain rotors are Brembo.

Default For daily driving, I find the Autozone Duralast pads to be effective, quiet and low dust.

Seriously. They offer free replacements, also. I gave up on the whole sensor thing. Seems that 1 track session is enough to melt the sensor loose on a pad, so screw it. No sensor for me.

Go elsewhere for track pads. Obviously.

Default Because you mentioned that the other day, I just installed some on my neighbor's>>

'98 Mazda 626. She had just hit the backing plate on one side and barely scored the rotor, so I told her we needed to do them tonight to avoid destroying the rotor.

One word-- Nice! For a mere $21.49, they included shims and were beveled on the edges. Took the car out for a spin and the braking felt killer, and there was absolutely no noise. Highly recommended for street daily driver use!
